The WWW Virtual Library on Non-Governmental Organizations. Contains links to definitions and descriptions of NGOs; documents and papers on NGOs; NGO information related to UN conferences, summits and other events; various NGO resources; online directories; bibliographies, databases, and addresses; and events, news, and press items on NGOs.

Directory of Development Organizations 2003
"The Directory lists 29,500 contacts of organizations that offer (non-) financial support, market access, information and advice to the enterprise and poverty-reducing sectors in low-income countries. Contact details include the organization's mail and street address, telephone and fax numbers, e-mail address and Web page details, if available. This Directory is intended to provide a comprehensive source of reference for development practitioners, researchers, donor employees, and policymakers who are interested in private sector development and poverty alleviation, particularly in low-income countries."  It has been divided into seven geographical regions: Africa, Asia and the Middle East, Central America and the Caribbean, Europe, Oceania, South America, Canada and the USA; and nine categories: International Organizations, Government, Private Sector Support Organizations, Finance Institutions, Training and Research Organizations, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs)/Private Development Organizations (PDOs), Development Consulting Firms, Information Providers, and Grantmakers.

FIRST - Facts on International Relations and Security Trends
A collection of 40 integrated, fully-searchable databases containing clearly documented information from various research institutes worldwide. The topics include information on armed forces, conventional weapon holdings and military activities; arms production, trade, embargoes and export controls; conflicts and peace keeping activities; country indicators and statistics; government, memberships and agreements; military expenditure; nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles; and news, events and reference data. It can be searched by country profile, multiple country profiles or an advanced search feature that offers specific searching capabilities depending on the database(s) selected.
