Search Systems
Each of these
systems has its own way of collecting web
pages. Quality, size, currency, and search
accuracy varies from system to system.
Worldcat
A
premier resource for finding web sites that
libraries from around the world have found
useful. When searching, use "Advanced
Search" and limit results by "Internet Resource".
Infomine
Another top notch tool for finding web sites that
academic institutions have reviewed and
considered important.
Internet Archive
Offers permanent access for researchers,
historians, and scholars to Internet sites and other cultural artifacts in digital form.
Britannica
Online
Web sites collected by subject experts who have
authored the entries in this venerated online
encyclopaedia. When searching, limit your
search to "Britannica Internet Guide".
Google
The most popular place on the web to start a web
search. Not always the best place to
start. Unlike those resources above,
Google does not filter or select resources for
inclusion in its searches.
