Equipment to Borrow

E-Reader Borrowing Policy

  • The Cal Maritime  library provides each e-reader with a bag, case and power cord.
  • A borrower may only check out one e-reader at a time.
  • Library staff will check each e-reader to ensure proper working order before it is checked out and when it is returned. Anything saved to the e-Reader by the borrower will be deleted when they return it.
  • E-readers should only be returned to the Circulation Desk, not via the drop-box.
  • The loan period is one semester (students) or one academic year (faculty/staff). The loan can be renewed if no other loan request is pending.
  • Overdue fines are not charged. Once an e-reader is 60 days overdue, it will be presumed lost and the borrower charged a replacement fee ($150)
  • If the e-reader is damaged beyond repair, lost or stolen, the borrower will be charged a replacement fee ($150).
