EGL 100 - English Composition

EGL 100 Introductory Tutorial

Welcome English 100 students!

Margot HansonMy name is Margot Hanson, and I'm a Librarian at Cal Maritime. I usually visit English 100 classes a couple of times in person each semester, but as we all know, this semester isn't "usual."

Instead of meeting with you in person, I'll be visiting your Zoom class sessions and this initial tutorial will walk you through the activities we would have usually done in the library.

This tutorial is for the first library class visit for EGL 100 virtual classes, and covers some initial steps to browse news sources for current events, find background information to identify possible topics, and use concept mapping to focus a possible topic.
