The policies of the California Maritime Academy Library

CSUM Library Standards of Behavior

The Cal Maritime Library provides a welcoming and inclusive environment focused on promoting student success. All library patrons are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that allows other patrons to use the library in a safe, satisfying, and orderly way. Library staff will take appropriate action when patron behavior disrupts library services and this environment.

In addition, all standards in the CSU Standards for Student Conduct, the Corps of Cadets Code of Conduct, and the Cadet Handbook apply.

Enforcement

  • Patrons may be asked to leave the library building if policies are not complied with.
  • Failure to comply may result in the patron's library privileges being limited or revoked or removal of the patron from the building.
  • The Library Dean or authorized designee, upon staff recommendation, may revoke library privileges for a specified period of time.
  • A library patron whose library privileges have been revoked may appeal the decision by submitting their appeal in writing to the Library Dean or designee.
